Pro-gun advocate Charlie Kirk was fatally shot in the neck while debating with an audience member about the relationship between trans people and mass shootings.
In his last conversation before his murder, conservative influencer Charlie Kirk was debating mass shootings in the US. When confronted by an audience member on the campus of Utah Valley University, Kirk was preparing to answer a question about the involvement of trans people in mass shootings when he was shot in the neck.
The head of Turning Point USA, the leading conservative youth organization in the US—and a close figure to US President Donald Trump—was at the university in Utah on the first stop of his so-called "America Comeback Tour," a series of events he planned to hold at higher education institutions, debating in public spaces. Kirk was known for going to academic settings to present his ideas and being challenged.
As he lowered his microphone, the sound of a gunshot pierced the room, and the influencer fell after being hit in the neck. He was treated for gunshot wounds but succumbed to his injuries.
The influencer's death was mourned by politicians across the political spectrum in the US, who also condemned the violence. President Donald Trump called the case a "politically motivated" crime and blamed the "far left" for Kirk's death. Many expressed shock that the influencer was killed while responding to a question about gun violence.

Note:
The United States, despite hundreds of murders every year (street shootings, school shootings), politicians killed, and assassination attempts on politicians (Trump's case, for example),
has a large gun lobby, a billion-dollar industry, but Americans have maintained a gun-owning mentality since the cowboy era.
No president has ever managed, nor wanted, to go against the gun lobby—not George W. Bush, not Obama, not Trump, even though he was the target of an assassination attempt and now his friend Charlie Kirk has been killed. Even if 150 or 200 children were shot dead in a school tomorrow, the Americans would never put an end to the gun lobby. It's ironic, after all.
As for the shooter, the FBI released images of the suspect, and they're offering a $100,000 reward.
The rifle shot, from that distance, hitting Kirk in the neck, who was under a tent, had to be the work of a professional.
I know there are American gun fanatics, and they hold training sessions, saying this guy must be from the far left. But that shot looked like it was fired by a professional, someone hired, with military experience. In the FBI images, we see the suspect who appears to be young. And he already had such skill as a shooter?
Update- 12 September
The shooter who killed Charlie Kirk in Utah has been arrested.
The Utah governor said the suspect's friends and family turned him in to the police.
The individual's name is Tyler Robinson, 22 years old.
According to the Utah governor, the suspect was not a student at Utah Valley University, where the crime occurred. However, on the day Kirk gave a lecture at the institution, he drove to the university. After the crime, he changed his clothes and fled on foot, according to the governor.
The Utah governor said police also found messages on his social media account about the use of rifles and ammunition. Relatives told police that the suspect has radicalized his political discourse in recent years.
I'd like to know how the 22-year-old is so skilled at shooting, and he only fired one accurate shot (note that the person who tried to kill Trump missed and hit his ear).
There are several factors: aim, distance, wind speed, etc. Did this guy have shooting training sessions?
