The planet is experiencing an increase in strong earthquakes, occurring within a very short time span.
The tremor struck Flores Island shortly before 5 a.m. local time on Saturday (6 p.m. Friday Brasília time).
The quake occurred at a depth of 15 km, according to Indonesia’s meteorology and geophysics agency. The shallower an earthquake is, the more destructive its effects tend to be at the surface. Link RTP
