Dear reader,
many bloggers and website authors who shamelessly call themselves "ufologists" are spreading nonsense and disinformation.
Now, in addition to comet 31/ATLAS, they claim a second comet, C/2025 R2 SWAN, is going to collide with Earth — or perhaps it could be a second mothership.
We're reaching the point of absurdity! Does every comet seen in the sky have to be an alien spaceship?
Let me tell you: none of these comets will collide with Earth, nor will they come anywhere near us. Both comets (31/ATLAS and R2 SWAN) are moving away.
You can see this in real time on the 3D Sky Map of the solar system, which shows the orbits. You can move forward day by day until the end of the year and check the comets' paths.
R2 SWAN will pass at a distance of 39 million kilometers, and it's moving farther away from us every day.
