Humanitarian Flotilla Intercepted: Activists Detained

The boats of the "Global Sumud" Humanitarian Flotilla were intercepted less than 150 km from Gaza.

The Flotilla is made up of approximately 40 vessels and has approximately 443 crew members from 47 countries.

It has been publicly announced that the interception will take place in Ashdod, halfway between Tel Aviv and Gaza.

On the Portuguese side, there are detained citizens, such as Mariana Mortágua, a member of Congress and leader of the Left Bloc.

On the American side, there are Marine veterans Phillip Tottenham and Jessica Coltfelter, among others. A total of 24 American citizens are detained.

Is the interception legal? In international waters, it is not, and it is considered a war crime; concealing the whereabouts of detainees is even worse.

But Israel can "do anything," anyone who says otherwise is "anti-Semitic."

Update:

Meanwhile, thousands of people are demonstrating in Europe.

In Lisbon, the protest took place in front of the Israeli Embassy.

In Spain, thousands of people demonstrated in Barcelona and Madrid, outside the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

In France, in Marseille, about 100 pro-Palestinian protesters were arrested this Thursday, accused of blocking the Eurolinks arms factory, accused of supplying military components to Israel for its offensive in the Gaza Strip.

In Geneva, Switzerland, about 2,000 people gathered late Thursday afternoon to express their solidarity with Palestine and the Gaza flotilla intercepted by Israel.

Protests are also reported in Italy, Poland, the Netherlands, Germany, Pakistan, Malaysia, and Mexico.

A second flotilla, with nine boats, is heading to Gaza.
