The US secret services monitor five million messages sent daily via the microblogging service Twitter. But there is more.
The social network Facebook, news sites and television channels, radio stations and real-time chat rooms are also in the CIA’s sights.
The news was reported by the US news agency Associated Press, which, for the first time, visited the manufacturing facilities in Virginia, USA, which serve as headquarters for the CIA’s cyber spies.
The information they collect online is later cross-referenced with other data obtained, for example, through wiretapping, with the aim of characterizing the environment in certain regions.
